| 001. Business as usual |

I read a rather interesting article this afternoon while having my tea. Apparently a group of scientists have discovered that early Nordic people -specifically Vikings- had type A blood. Now, this is especially curious considering it suggests my ancestors wore ragged furs and plundered villages. I suppose you could call it the irony of evolution.
I've suffered a rather tiresome week. Alcide has been dedicated to the family business more than ever and has required my company on more than one occasion. While I have no objection to this, I do admit mentally digesting this new influx of information to be quite tiring. This is simply an observation rather than a complaint for I fully comprehend the importance of understanding the business and its intricate responsibilities. I did, however, find today to be very enjoyable. Alcide had an appointment with an important business associate and had me tend to the wife while they discussed matters in a separate room. It is rather unusual for a wife to accompany her husband on such an outing, but it was a lovely excuse to freshen up my French. She was telling me how beautiful the weather is, and it reminded me that I ought to find time to visit our summer home in Southern France. I do miss the lack of obligation beautiful summer nights. Perhaps in the upcoming weeks I will get away.
